- A sculptor recently put up an 'unrecognizable' statue of Ghanaian musician Shatta Wale
- Reports have it that the monument of the award-winning singer was to honor him ahead of his album launch
Multiple award-winning dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale, born Charles Nii Armah Mensah, has once again received another honor of being sculptured by one of his staunch supporters and it has generated a lot of debate on social media.
According to reports, the sculptor who is a student, decided to honor the Dem Confuse singer with the statue ahead of his Reign Album launch scheduled to hold in a few weeks.
Photos of the artwork has started circulating on social media and it shows the sculptor posing beside his ‘priceless work of art’ as he smiled for the cameras.
The name of the student is yet to be ascertained but he sure is proud of his handiwork and it could be seen in his reaction.
The art work displayed the singer in a pair of jeans and showed his bare torso with some jewelry dangling down his neck.
The work captured Shatta Wale with a microphone in his hands and sporting his trademark hairstyle.
However, the face of the singer left much to be desired since many thought the artiste could have done a better job than that.
Not too long ago, some sculptors mounted the statues of footballer Michael Essien and late award-winning dancehall act, Ebony Reigns, known in real life as Priscilla Opoku Kwarteng.
The statues generated a lot of debate since many people were of the view that they were less than the actual representation of the stars in real life.
Shatta Wale was one of the critics of the 2 statues and warned the sculptor not to try to replicate him in any form. He took to social media then and wrote, “WHOEVER DO THIS STATUE, I HEAR SAY YOU DEH MIX MY CEMENT. MAKE YOU NO TRY!!! MAKE YOU NO GO THAT SIDE KRAAA!!!”
Similar ‘unrecognizable’ statues have been made of many stars including Cristiano Ronaldo and Argentina’s Diego Maradona.
