- United are set to miss 6 first-team stars ahead of Leicester opener on Friday
- The Red Devils are also not expected to land any new signing on transfer deadline day
- Portuguese manager Jose Mourinho insists he is not confident with happenings at United
Manchester United Portuguese manager Jose Mourinho is in dilemma ahead of Friday's Premier League opener against Leicester City as six players are facing various injury concerns.
According to a UK Sun report, the Old Trafford outfit are not expected to bring in new additions on transfer deadline day, leaving Manchester United with a worn out squad.
The Portuguese boss revealed today the Red Devils will be without Sergio Romero, Antonio Valencia, Marcos Rojo, Diogo Dalot, Ander Herrera and Nemanja Matic against the Foxes on Friday night.
The ex-Real Madrid manager said: "Romero had a surgery after his injury, Valencia, he was injured in pre-season, Marcos Rojo, he was injured in the World Cup.
"Dalot had a surgery in Porto by the end of April and is not yet ready. Ander Herrera was injured against Bayern.
"Matic was injured in the World Cup and had surgery in Philly a couple of weeks ago. I think that's it.
"They return on Monday, train on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and today so you can imagine that they are not really fit and ready but we have needs.
"The list that I gave you before of the injured players is an important list and today after training I will speak with that group of players.
"Everybody is different physically and mentally and we will see how they feel they are and to understand to think how they can help or not help."
In addition, the Portuguese also used the press conference to reveal latest update on United's summer transfer latest.
Mourinho stressed that he is not expecting any new signing before the window closes today.
"I'm not confident, I'm not confident and the market closes today so is time at least for me to stop thinking about the market because the market will be closed.
"So I will have to focus on the players I have and in relation to this first couple of matches, maybe three matches because after Spurs there is national team and a couple of weeks to recover people and prepare people better.
"It is time to focus on players available so I'm not thinking about that list I give you, I focus on what we have."
Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously had reported that United manager Jose Mourinho has admitted the club are unlikely to make any new signings before the transfer window closes.
The Portuguese tactician has been desperate to bring in a top class defender to beef-up his squad ahead of the new season.
However, Mourinho has been left frustrated that the club has not been able to close the deal for any player - meaning he will have to stick with the majority of the squad he had last season.
