Singer Koker parts ways with MI’s Chocolate City

It appears rising Nigerian musician Koker has left the record label he called home for many years Chocolate City.

This became obvious when the Kolewerk crooner took to his Instagram page to post the cover art for his new song titled Daddy featuring Falz. The Chocolate City logo was conspicuously missing.

Many have taken this to mean that Koker has parted ways with the MI Abaga led music company. However, this is not the first time Koker has been plagued with rumours that he has left Chocolate City.

In November 2017, when asked if he has left the label, he said: “does it look like I’m not with them anymore? There is no truth to any rumour whatsoever. My selling point is simply about me being myself.”

This is coming after Popular Nigerian musician Davido revealed that he is not interested in becoming an international musician.

“To be honest, me, I’m not into this international stuff but I’m really doing it because I’m one of those people pioneering this movement. I have to put a cape on my back and do it for the culture but I always prefer being at home,” he told Pause magazine.

He further explained that he will be releasing his sophomore album in September 2018. “Yeah I’m dropping my album very soon, in September, and some new singles coming out, which actually might drop this week.”
