Young genius Galadima Isreal offered N5m scholarship by Borno governor

- A young boy who came out top in JAMB has been offered a 5-year scholarship by the Borno state governor

- Identified as Israel Zakari Galadima, he had scored 364 in his JAMB exams, making his the highest score

- The scholarship which is for his tertiary institution is reportedly worth N5m

Earlier on, reported the news of how a Biu, Borno state, Israel Zakari, got the highest score of 364 in the 2018 Unified Matriculation Examination (UME). He soon became a viral sensation on the internet as many people were impressed by his intelligence.

Well, it turns out the governor of Borno state was also impressed by the young boy. He has offered Israel a 5-year scholarship to study Electrical Engineering at Covenant University, Ota, Ogun State under the Borno State Ministry of Higher Education.

The great news was delivered after Governor Shettima invited Zakari and his mother, Jummai Galadima to the council chambers of the Borno state Government House. He stated how proud he was of his performance.

The governor had this to say,"It is my honour of Meeting the JAMB King Galadima Israel, an indigene of Borno who scored highest in the 2018 tertiary matriculation examination in Nigeria.

We are mightily proud of this young man, an orphan raised by a single mother by coming first nationwide after scoring 364 in the 2018 JAMB examination. We must identify with our son of boko haram ravaged Borno who defiled against all odds and became victorious”.

According to Israel's mother, he was raised as an orphan. The mother lost her husband who was a Major in the Nigerian Army about 14 years ago and she single handedly raised three children, working as a banker.

She had this to say:

"I was passing through all the pain of taking care of my children before you came and salvaged me from my hardship. I want to thank the Governor for his empathy, for recognising my son and the scholarship to enable him complete his tertiary education.I want to thank Nigerians for thier support, prayers and show of love. May Almighty God reward all of you."
