Speaker Dogara’s aide resigns position as APC young women’s chieftain

- Rinsola Abiola has resigned her position as the leader of the APC young women

- Citing her reason for resigning, Abiola said she has fulfilled her mandate of expanding the forum

Rinsola Abiola, the special assistant on new media to the Speaker House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, has resigned her post as the president of the All Progressives Congress Young Women Forum (APC-YWF).

Rinsola, who became the acting president of the forum in 2015, announced her resignation via a series of tweets.

She said: "This is to officially announce my resignation from the leadership of the APC-Young Women Forum (APC-YWF). I emerged as Ag. President in 2015 and I have fulfilled my mandate of expanding the forum by building structures at zonal and state levels.

"It’s been an honour leading so many amazing young women. Succession is a key tenet of democracy and I am hopeful that the new leadership, when elected, will consolidate on the gains recorded during my tenure."

Legit.ng earlier reported that there are reports that Yakubu Dogara, may formerly announce his defection from the APC to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) this week in his home Bauchi state.

Dogara’s alleged decision to leave the ruling party is due to claims that he had been sidelined from the affairs of the party due to an alleged disagreement with Governor Mohammed Abubakar of Bauchi state.
