- The Kaduna senator expressed optimism that the PDP will take over power
- He said Governor El-Rufai should be prepared to be voted out
Senator Suleiman Othman Hunkuyi has sent a message to the All Progressives Congress (APC) saying the party should be expecting the anger of Nigerians in 2019.
Tribune reports that the senator representing Kaduna North Senatorial District spoke during a formal reception organised by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Kaduna state chapter for defectors at the Trade Fair Complex in Kaduna on Monday, August 6.
He said: “God gives power but the APC regime in Kaduna and Nigeria have dealt with the electorates and the electorates will show their anger at the right time.
“We don’t insult, but we tell the truth. I am telling El-Rufai to use the remaining time he has in office to pack his things and be ready to leave Government House. We don’t insult, but they will feel pains by the truth we speak.
Hunkuyi said the PDP is rebranded and ready to take back the leadership of the state.
He said: “We came to join hands with our friends in PDP to liberate our people from the bondage of APC in Kaduna.
“Let’s join hand with our great party PDP and change things. Without PDP, there would be no end to the untold hardship Nigerians are passing through.
“We are praying to God to help us to be united to be successful in reclaiming our state and country,” he stressed.
Honourable Felix Hassan Hyet who is the chairman of the PDP in Kaduna said they would work together to liberate the state from the shackle of the APC.
He said: “Hunkuyi brought El-Rufai to power. I believe he has realized his mistake and would work hard towards correcting that by helping to send him packing.”
Meanwhile, the Kaduna state chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC) has said that Senator Suleiman Hunkuyi should get ready for a permanent political retirement anything after 2019.

Nigerian Tribune reports that the party in reaction to a recent statement credited to the lawmaker where he boasted that he would unseat Governor El-rufai in 2019, said the lawmaker's undignified retirement would be concluded in 2019.
Legit.ng gathered that the party in a statement signed by its assistant publicity secretary, Salisu Wusono, on Monday, July 30, said that it was not in any way shaken over Hunkuyi's defection, adding that it was his usual characteristic of boasting to unseat an incumbent governor.
