Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has told new manager Maurizio Sarri he wants to leave Stamford Bridge, Mirror quoting ESPN.

The Belgian shot-stopper reportedly met with Sarri after the Blue's Community Shield defeat to Manchester City at Wembley.

And with the Italian open to selling players not committed, Courtois who has a year left on his contract, has made his intentions apparent, claim ESPN.

The 59-year-old manager said he wanted to hear directly from Belgian if he wanted to push through a move to Real Madrid before the end of the month.

"I am not interested in the agent," he said after Chelsea's loss to Manchester City in the Community Shielf.

"I want to hear if Courtois will say the same to me. I only want players with a very high level of motivation.

"I talked to them two days ago so I know what they will say to me tomorrow. I'm ready. But I think more good [news] than bad."

On the other hand, Courtois would not be pushed when he talked to the Belgian media about his future before meeting with his new boss after Antonio Conte's sacking.

"My transfer? I am not going to say anything about that now, it is a delicate situation," Courtois said.

"I cannot say much, I am not thinking about that, I am calm and becoming anxious would not help. What is important is to be ready for next season."

Meanwhile, had earlier reported that Chelsea may risk losing their number one Thibaut Courtois for free next summer.

The Blues are yet to sign a replacement for the Belgian shot-stopper who has refused a new deal to remain at Stamford Bridge.

Currently, the 26-year-old has just a year left on his contract which expires at the end of the 2018/19 season and the Premier League transfer window is set to close at 18:00pm on August 9.
