Please forgive my husband’s government - Florence Ajimobi pleads with Oyo people

Florence Ajimobi has urged the people of Oyo state who may have been offended by the administration of her husband to kindly forgive him.

The Sun reports that the Oyo state First Lady made the appeal over the weekend during a bi-monthly prayer programme by women in the state called Women Intercessory Network (WIN) at the arcade remembrance ground, Agodi, in Ibadan.

Florence Ajimobi urged women to be wives of virtue who will encourage their husbands to do well in their areas of endeavours.

She said: “It is important for us in Oyo State to learn how to forgive one another especially in our homes which is the bedrock of the society as a way to ensure peace to reign.

“Women should be wives of virtue who will encourage their husbands to do well in their areas of endeavours instead of negative utterances that can provoke their husbands.

“Above all, women must learn how to be hard working and fulfill the biblical role of women’s creation as men’s helpers and not financial burden that will always give them problems.

“Also, women must learn to say positive things that can devoid ill luck to their families."

In other news, the Catholic archbishop of Lagos, Alfred Adewale Martins, has stated that it is wrong for anyone or group to arrogate to themselves, the unwarranted role of deciding who gets what in the country, 58 years after independence.

Briefing newsmen at the end of a thanksgiving service to mark his 6th anniversary of his installation as Catholic archbishop on Sunday, August 5, the cleric restated his call for restructuring of the nation, Vanguard reports.

Legit.ng gathers that while reiterating the call for restructuring, Martins also acknowledged that Nigeria is passing through very disturbing times, because some people “have turned the nation to their play fields and fiefdoms that should be exploited and balkanized for their selfish ends.”
