Fayose reacts to his alleged planned defection to APC, says he will never leave PDP

- Governor Fayose has reacted to his alleged planned defection to APC

- He said that linking him with APC is like associating him with armed robbers

- The governor, however, reiterated his commitment to remain in PDP

Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti state has said that linking him with the All Progressive Congress (APC) is like associating with armed robbers.

Legit.ng gathered that Fayose made this known on his Twitter handle on Sunday, August 5.

The special assistant to Fayose on new media, Lere Olayinka, also denied a reports that his principal visited Senator Bola Tinubu in Lagos today, Monday, August 6.

"I remain in PDP and those associating me with the APC can continue to celebrate their own political self deceit. Together we must rescue Nigeria and its people from the APC tyrannical government", Fayose said.

While denying Fayose’s meeting with Senator Tinubu and photo in circulation showing that Fayose visited Senator Bola Tinubu in Lagos, Olayinka said: "Here is the picture APC goons are circulating as one taken when Governor Fayose visited Tinubu in Lagos today.

"I used the picture on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 (See circle in red). ‘Let me state it expressly that Governor Fayose is not coming to the APC and he did not meet any Tinubu today.

He said: "Linking him with the APC is like linking the governor with armed robbers who stole the mandate of Ekiti people. If it will remain just one man that will continue to stand against the APC tyrannical government of Buhari, that one man will be Peter Ayodele Fayose.

"He remains in PDP. If the dying party, APC is looking for credible people as members that will be available for its final demise, count Fayose out.

"Governor Fayose remains committed to the task of rescuing Nigeria and its people from the APC and its tyrannical government and no amount of threat, intimidation and blackmail will make him to even consider joining the party, APC."

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had previously reported that Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti state criticised President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.

The governor made his displeasure known when he visited the Senate president, Bukola Saraki, and the deputy Senate president, Ike Ekweremadu, on Tuesday, July 24.

Fayose said who said he came on a solidarity visit condemned the siege on the residences of the national assembly leaders.
