Manchester United France star Paul Pogba has picked Barcelona legend Andres Iniesta's shirt number ahead of a potential move away from Old Trafford this summer, reports suggest.
According to a UK Daily Star report citing sources at CalcioMercato revealed the Spanish giants are reportedly keen to make a late swoop for the World Cup winner following his frequent Pogba fell out with Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho last campaign.
The Frenchman was said to have held talks with Barcelona sporting director Eric Abidal in Los Angeles last week to iron out the details of a potential switch to the Nou Camp outfit.
Interestingly, the shirt number he would use alongside his role on the field of play under Barca manager Ernesto Valverde were some of the silent issues sorted out during the meeting.
The report further hinted that Pogba has been handed the No.8 jersey vacated by Andres Iniesta, if the deal sees the light of the day.
On the other hand, Barcelona are close to making public the news of Arturo Vidal arrival from Bundesliga side Bayern Munich.
However, the Chilean star is seen more of a replacement for Paulinho than Iniesta.
Previously, Barcelona have been linked with stars that include Miralem Pjanic and Thiago, but Pogba is seemingly Lionel Messi’s preferred choice.
Iniesta left Barcelona in May after making an incredible 674 games in the famous striped shirt of the Nou Camp outfit.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously had reported that Barcelona have reportedly completed the signing of Chile international Arturo Vidal from German club Bayern Munich.
The 31-year-old is reported to have agreed personal terms with the Spanish giants after being told he could leave Bayern Munich according to the report by UK Sun.
Although Barcelona and Bayern Munich have not confirmed the latest development but it is believed that Arturo Vidal will move to the Nou Camp for around £27 million.
