President Buhari, security chiefs in closed-door meeting inside Aso Rock

A day to when he would leave for London on a 10-day vacation President Muhammadu Buhari, on Thursday, August 2, had a closed-door meeting with security chiefs inside Aso Rock.

The presidency also revealed that at the meeting, Buhari received security briefings from the heads of the organizations.

Some top presidency officials including Brig-Gen Mansur Dan Ali, the defence minister, were at the meeting.

Also present at the closed-door meeting include: the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Abayomi Olonisakin; the Chief of Army Staff (CoAS), Lt-General TY Buratai; the Chief of Naval Saff (CNS), Vice Admiral Ibok Ekwe Ibas.

Others are the Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Abubakar Sadique and Inspector General of Police (IGP), Alhaji Ibrahim Idris.

Legit.ng earlier reported that President Muhammad Buhari reiterated the commitment of his APC led federal government to continue to fight corruption in all ramifications just as he reassured Nigerians that the administration would do more to make democracy thrive.

Nigerian Tribune reports that the president who was in Bauchi to flag off campaign for the APC candidate, Lawal Yahaya Gumau, in the Bauchi south senatorial by-election, called on the people to continue to support the APC led administration in its quest to bequeath a lasting democratic rule in the country.

It was gathered that the president also declared that the APC would not let the electorate down just as he assured that all party members would be given equal opportunity in the running of the party.
