- Manchester City have made a surprise move for PSG star Marco Veratti
- Pep Guardiola recently lost out in deal for Jorginho and Fred this summer
- The Italian international almost left for Barcelona in last season's window
Premier League champions Manchester City have set their sights on a surprise move for Paris Saint-Germain star Marco Verratti.
The 25-year-old midfielder has been on the books of PSG since 2012 when he made the move to the French capital from Pescara for just €12m.
And the Italian international quickly went on to develop into one of world football’s most highly-regarded ‘registas’ at the Parc des Princes.
The Citizens have missed out on the signing of Napoli midfielder Jorginho to Chelsea and Fred to Manchester United this summer.
However, Pep Guardiola has not yet given up on the possibility of signing a deep-lying creator, before the English transfer window slams shut on August 9.
A move for Verratti is being given ‘serious thought’ though it is noted that the 25-capped Azzurri star would need to hand in a transfer request for the second time in two seasons.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Brazil superstar Neymar has teamed up with Paris Saint-Germain as he begins training for the new season with the French Ligue 1 champions.
According to a UK Dailymail report, the 26-year-old Selecao star after arriving China on Wednesday hooked up with his club mates at their Shenzhen base on Thursday morning, following an extended vacation after the summer World Cup in Russia.
