19 LG cabinets dissolved by Governor Jibrilla of Adamawa

- Governor Umaru Jibrilla has dissolve the 19 local government council executive cabinets in Adamawa

- The governor directed the outgoing chairmen to handover to their respective head of service

- They were commended for their enormous contribution to the development of their areas

The 19 local government council executive cabinets in Adamawa state have been dissolved by the governor of the state, Umaru Jibrilla.

Daily Trust reports that the governor stated that the dissolution was in line with the local government council law No. 4. 2000 of the 1999 constitution as amended with effect from the 31st of July, 2018.

Legit.ng gathers that this was disclosed through a press statement made available to newsmen on Tuesday, August 31 and signed by the state's commissioner of information and strategy, Ahmed Sajoh.

The statement said: "The tenure of the 19 local government council chairmen ends today 31st July 2018, having been sworn-in on the 30th July, 2016."

The outgoing chairmen were thanked for their enormous contribution to the development of their areas and were directed to handover to their respective head of service.

According to the statement, the tenures of Michika and Lamurde local government councils will end on March 16, 2019 and 8th of August 2018 respectively.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that the governors of Niger and Adamawa states, Abubakar Bello and Mohammed Bindow, dismissed speculations that they were getting set to defect from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

They were said to have made the disclosure in separate chat sessions with newsmen in their respective states.
