Governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) met with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa on Wednesday, August 1.

Also speaking, the chairman of the APC Governors’ Forum, Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo, assured that no governor will defect from the party anymore.
Okorocha, who briefed State House correspondents on the outcome of the meeting, said they deliberated on the defections of two of their colleagues.
The governors that attended the meeting included Gov. Abubakar Badaru of Jigawa, Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos state and Gov. Yahaya Bello of Kogi.

Meanwhile, the gale of defection from the APC to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and other parties has been described as a strategic plan by enemies of Ndigbo to ensure that the presidency eludes the southeast come 2023.
This was stated by an APC chieftain in Imo state, Prince Anthony Chyma, in a press statement sent to Legit.ng on Tuesday, July 31, in Abuja.
He said a calculated attempt is being made to thwart the chances of President Muhammudu Buhari from handing over power to a candidate from the southeast come 2023
