Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho okays the sale of Marcos Rojo

- Red Devils are planning to sell their Argentine defender Marcos Rojo this summer

- The central defender performed well in Russia for his south American team but has not impressed his manager to earn a place in his team next term

- His goal was responsible for sending Argentina to the Round of 16 in Russia

- Meanwhile he is wanted by Everton who are planning to sign him before the start of the new seaso

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has reportedly sanctioned the sale of Argentine star Marcos Rojo this summer.

The 28-year-old was superb for his national tean at the 2018 World Cup tourney in Russia - scoring the winning goal against the Super Eagles in their third Group D encounter in June.

Rojo has however not done enough to earn the confidence of his manager confidence as the former Chelsea boss is backing the club to sell the player.

Mourinho is not done shopping in the summer transfer window having made an initial bid to sign Leicester City Harry Maguire who has been valued at £75 million.

But the Old Trafford outfit will have to offload Rojo to give way for a new central defender before the start of a new season in about 10 days time.

Meanwhile, the Mirror citing Daily Telegraph report that Rojo has been told he can leave Old Trafford before the end of the summer window with his prospective suitors billed to play £30m for his signature.

Everton boss Marco Silva are prepared to land the out of favour Man United star but will have to pay him around £120,000-a-week.

The Red Devils might also sell Victor Lindelof Lyon having received offers from the French club but Mourinho is against the idea of the Sweden international leaving Old Trafford.

Mourinho now has nine days to recruit a new centre-back and United have reportedly also opened talks with Barcelona to sign Yerry Mina.

The 23-year-old impressed for Colombia at the World Cup this summer but is unhappy with the amount of playing time he received last season having joined Barcelona for £10.5 million in the January window. previously reported that Manchester United defender, Marcos Rojo signed a new contract extension with the Old Trafford outfit until June 2021.

The club took to Social Media to share a photo of the 27-year-old Argentine as he puts pen to paper on a new deal.
