Breaking: Adegbenga Kaka joins governorship race

Senator Adegbenga Kaka, a former deputy governor in Ogun state has on Monday, July 30, declared his intention to join the governorship race in the state.

He disclosed this at the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Ogun state council secretariat at Oke Ilewo, Abeokuta, Punch reports.

Kaka was a former deputy governor of the state during the administration of Chief Olusegun Osoba, and also a former senator who had represented Ogun east at the National Assembly.

“I am your man, I have the experience, the integrity and commitment,” he said.

The former senator said he would be contesting for governorship in 2019 on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Meanwhile, had reported that Segun Odegbami, a former Nigerian footballer and sports administrator, declared his interest to slug it out with other political contenders for the governorship seat in Ogun state ahead of 2019.

He did not reveal the political platform through which he wants to achieve this. Odegbami.

He was quoted to have said that: “I am going to stay around for a little while longer, still watch and report any interesting events around here, and properly think through my next project.
