- Out of favour Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata is close to leaving the Stamford Bridge
- The former Real Madrid forward played part of the Blues slim victory over Inter Milan on Saturday
- He joined them in the summer of 2017 and his deal will expire in 2022
New Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has reportedly hinted that Alvaro Morata will leave the Stamford Bridge this summer.
The Spanish had a great start in his first year but the later end wasn't impressive as he went numerous games without scoring.
He scored 11 goals and created six assists in 31 Premier League appearances in the 2017-18 season for the Blues.
And the Italian tactician after his side's slim victory over Inter Milan suggested that Morata could be offloaded.
The Blues defeated the San Siro side 5-4 on penalties after playing 1-1 during normal regulation period.
Sarri said after the game that: "We have been working hard but it is only the start. Not everyone is here yet but the players that are here are doing well.
"We are a little behind physically speaking but I am happy with this result. Youngsters? Well let's see.
"I don't have any experience in the English Premier league so let's see how long it will take some of our youngsters to have an impact.
"I think we will hear a lot of good things about them this season. Morata? We want to keep our best players but not at all costs.
"We want to keep our top players but only if they want to be here. We can try to convince some players but let's see how it goes. We want to keep improving..."
Meanwhile, the London club are tipped as favourites to land Argentine forward Gonzalo Higuain, as his future following the big-money arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo.
Chelsea will face Arsenal as they continue their preparation for the coming season in the International Champions Cup on Wednesday evening.
Legit.ng previously reported that Chelsea beat Inter Milan 5-4 on penalties in their International Champions Cup preseason tourney after playing 1-1 in the normal regulation period on Saturday evening at the Allianz Riviera.
Pedro Rodriguez put the Blues in front just eight minutes into the match after powering home a rebound from an Alvaro Morata's shot which was saved by Inter's goalkeeper.
The goal gave the Premier League side some advantage as they won a free kick at a vantage point in the 12th minute but Marcos Alonso failed to convert the chance that was handed to him.
