The governor of Sokoto state, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, is finally set to leave the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) with close sources confirming he would make the announcement any moment from now.
The Cable reports that Tambuwal will announce his defection and is set to move to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with others including members of the state House of Assembly.

The report said Tambuwal has his eyes on the presidential election in 2019.
On its part, Vanguard reports that the governor would announce his defection very soon.
Legit.ng earlier reported that Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue state officially announced his resignation from the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The governor made the announcement at the Government House, Makurdi, hours after some Benue youths blocked his convoy, preventing him from visiting APC national chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, in Abuja.
There have been insinuations that the governor will quit the ruling party after he announced on Monday, July 16, that he has been sent out of the APC, and is currently exploring a new option to actualise his future ambition.
Legit.ng also reported that Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed of Kwara state hinted that he could leave Nigeria’s ruling party, All Progressives Congress (APC) anytime soon.
Ahmed is expected to leave the party alongside his predecessor and current Senate president, Bukola Saraki.
