Ben Bruce, other PDP members visit Ekweremadu after Police invasion (photos)

- Some members of the PDP visited the deputy Senate president Ike Ekweremadu

- The politicians visited the DSP at his Abuja home shortly after a police invasion

The senator representing Bayelsa East constituency on Tuesday, July 24, visited the deputy Senate president Ike Ekweremadu in his Abuja residence.

Ben Murray-Bruce was at the home of Ekweremadu alongside other senators and politicians of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to stand by him after a police invasion in his residence at the Apo legislative area.

The Bayelsa senator in a tweet said: "We will not stand idly by as desperadoes want to take Nigeria back to dictatorship!"

Also present at Ekweremadu's residence was the former spokesperson of the PDP, Olisa Metuh; the senator representing Kogi West, Dino Melaye; among many others.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that officials of the Department of State Services (DSS) and the police laid siege at the home of the deputy Senate president on Tuesday, July 24.

The media aide to the deputy Senate president, Uche Anichukwu, said the siege on Ekweremadu’s residence began early in the morning.

Anichukwu said: "The house is currently surrounded by security agencies since early in the morning. That I cannot say. When you attack a man’s house, how is he supposed to be at plenary?”
