News has it that madam Patience Sarfo, the woman at the center of the police brutality case, has received a sum of GHC40,000 (N3 million) from some generous Ghanaians.
This is said to be a contribution by some compassionate individuals to support the woman, while more cash flows in for her.
It was further reported that the woman has also been advised by the contributors to get a lawyer to sue Midland Savings and Loans Company under whose watch she was brutalized.
She had reportedly gone there to withdraw her ‘susu’ savings with the financial institution because she has heard that they were facing a possible liquidation.
According to reports, Midland failed to allow her withdraw her money but when the woman insisted on going home with her money, the officer began assaulting her. However, the video went viral as many people called on the authorities to ensure that the officer does not go unpunished.
The police have also allayed the fears of Ghanaians, assuring that Lance Corporal Amanor will be dealt with accordingly.
One Honorable Collins Amankwah reportedly donated the sum of GHC2,000 (N149,799) to the nursing mother and has promised to expand her business. Also, Ghana’s Peace FM donated the same amount to take care of her medical bills.
Legit.ng on Friday, July 20, reported that a woman was assaulted by a police officer who was later identified as Lance Corporal Godzi Federick Amanor. According to the viral video, the officer was seen wrestling with the nursing mother.
