PDP signs fresh MoU with R-APC

- A fresh MoU has been signed between the PDP and the R-APC

- The new MoU is designed to give prominent members of R-APC a sense of belonging in PDP

The leaderships of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and members of the Reformed All Progressives Congress (R-APC) have signed a fresh Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) last week to fully absorb the APC faction into PDP.

A major highlight of the MoU, according to a report by the New Telegraph, was the ceding of 60 per cent of PDP structures in selected states to some R-APC bigwigs.

The states include Kwara, Bauchi, Kano, Sokoto and Benue state.

The MoU was specifically designed to give members of RAPC a sense of belonging in PDP as soon as they formally join the fold to avoid being segregated or maltreated which according to them was the reason they left APC.

Recall that the former chairman of the new Peoples Democratic Party (nPDP), Abubakar Baraje, had said that members of the party is set to leave the ruling All progressives Congress (APC). Baraje said that members of the nPDP and all supporters of the Senate President will leave the APC with or without Bukola Saraki.

Legit.ng earlier reported that the NEC and Board of Trustees (BoT) of the PDP would hold emergency meetings on Monday, July 23, to discuss demands by some members of the newly formed Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP).

The ‎PDP leaders would discuss the choice of a strong presidential candidate for the coalition in 2019, and the demand by some members of the Reformed-All Progressives Congress (R-APC).
