- The group’s president said OBJ had drawn the ire of the present administration because he had been trying to make President Buhari lead the nation right
- He further chided President Buhari for the persistent killings in Plateau, Zamfara and Benue states
The president of the Yoruba Youth Forum (YYF), Olusegun Abiodun Bolarinwa, has urged Yorubas and Nigerians in general, not to allow the Muhammed Buhari-led administration to tarnish the impeccable image of former President Olusegun Obasanjo over what he described as political ‘shenanigans.’
Bolarinwa made the comment during a press conference organized by the group in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital, on Friday, July 20, Vanguard reports.
Legit.ng gathers that Bolarinwa opined that Obasanjo had drawn the ire of the present administration because he had been trying to make President Buhari steer the ship of state in the right direction.
He insisted that Obasanjo is in good stead to give the present government a sense of right direction, as the former president is an elder statesman and reputable leader who has wide and varied recognition and a good reputation in the global community.
The youth leader also took a swipe at Nobel laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka, for campaigning against Obasanjo’s efforts to rescue Nigeria from possible wreck of the ship of state.
He further chided President Buhari for the persistent killings in Plateau, Zamfara and Benue states; pointing out that the president has failed to tackle the insurgency problem in those areas.
According to Bolarinwa, the destruction of lives and property being perpetrated by Boko Haram, herdsmen, terrorists and others in the country is something that needs serious attention.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that former President Olusegun Obasanjo accused President Muhammadu Buhari of doing harm to Nigeria and accused his administration of being confused.
Obasanjo spoke in Abuja at a summit organised by Prof Ango Abdullahi where leaders of socio-political groups met to discuss the future of the country.
