Club America force Manchester United to 1-1 draw in first preseason encounter

- Red Devils shared spoils with Mexican club side CF America in a preseason friendly in Arizona

- Henry Martin opened scoring for the north American outfit in the 60th minute through a powerful header

- Former Chelsea midfielder Juan Mata grabbed the equaliser for Jose Mourinho's side with just 12 minutes to the end of the match

Manchester United kicked off their preseason tour with a 1-1 draw against Mexican club CF America at the University of Phoenix Stadium on Friday, July 20.

Missing the services of most of their key players, the Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho fielded the strongest players in his current squad.

Players like Anthony Martial and Juan Mata and a few other regular first team players started the game but both teams were unable to find the back of the net in the first half.

And just 15 minutes into the second half, the Mexican club side broke the deadlock with Henry Martin brilliant header on the hour mark.

Mata helped his side avoid defeat in their first game of the US tour after powering a shot past the opposition's goalkeeper as they both shared the spoils at the end of the game.

However, Mourinho is reportedly worried ahead of the coming season due to most of his players' unavailability.

The new Premier League season kicks off on August 10 and the Portuguese tactician is scared some of his key players will not be available for their opening game against Leicester.

About 12 Man United players are not at their base camp in Arizona while Alexis Sanchez is expected to join them having being granted US visa late.

Meanwhile, Mourinho will have to lean heavily on the current group, and there is clearly still a lot of work to be done.

Despite playing Martial in that game, Manchester United aren't sure if they can keep their winger who missed out of the 2018 World Cup due to his bench warming role last season.
