- US government grants Chile forward Alexis Sanchez visa to join his Manchester United teammates for preseason tour
- The former Barcelona star was denied entry by the government following the tax evasion case tied around his neck
- He joined the Red Devils from Arsenal during the winter transfer window and became United's most paid player
Manchester United superstar Alexis Sanchez will join his teammates in the United States in a few days to start preseason preparations with the squad.
The 29-year-old was initially denied visa by the US goverment due to the tax case leveied against him while playing for Barcelona.
Jose Mourinho's men are scheduled to play five matches while in the States and were probably not expecting their most paid player to take part of the games.
However, this news would be a relief to the coaching crew as they get ready for the 2018-19 season starting in less than one month from now.
Some key members of the team that took part in the recently concluded Russia 2018 World Cup have already been handed three weeks break before joining the team.
Hence, the reasons Mourinho was anxious about Sanchez not being granted visa at the initial stage because the Chilean didn't qualify to play in Russia.
Mourinho had indicated yesterday that those three would start the season as his World Cup stars from the England, France and Belgium squads would not have had a proper pre-season.
That means the likes of World Cup winner Paul Pogba, Romelu Lukaku, Jesse Lingard and Marcus Rashford who would have been expected to start the season, won’t.
