- Real Madrid set to announce the signing Thibaut Courtois in less than a week
- The Chelsea goalkeeper has been heavily linked to join the Spanish giants
- Los Blancos are also looking to sign his club and country teammate Eden Hazard
Belgium international Thibaut Courtois is reportedly set to be announced as a Real Madrid player within five days, Daily Star quoting Don Balon.
The Chelsea shot-stopper has been heavily linked with a move to the Bernabeu for a number of years.
The Blues have always been adamant Courtois will not leave Stamford Bridge but with a year left on his current contract it now looks inevitable that a move will happen earlier than expected.
Chelsea have, as a result, been forced to sell up now to avoid letting him go next summer for nothing.
And Jack Butland, Kasper Schmeichel and Petr Cech have been touted as formidable replacements for the 25-year-old.
But according to Spanish news media outlet Don Balon, the Bernabeu outfit are ready to confirm the deal next week.
And Real president Florentino Perez wants the transfer confirmed within the next five days as pre-season draws closer.
Reports have stated that a £31m fee has been agreed but the European champions are trying to tie up a deal for Eden Hazard who also hinted he wants a move to Madrid as well.
He said: “After six wonderful years at Chelsea it might be time to discover something different. Certainly after this World Cup.
“I can decide if I want to stay or go, but Chelsea will make the final decision. If they want to let me go, you know my preferred destination.”
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported Hazard has reportedly agreed terms with Real Madrid as Chelsea face the prospect of losing two of their top players.
Zinedine Zidane who is a fan of Hazard, has left the club but a switch to the Spanish giants still remains likely.
