I have not yet opted out of APC - Senator Sani

- Senator Shehu Sani said he is yet to dump his party, APC

- The senator said he and some others are however, in talks with PDP

- The senator accused APC of being unjust in its treatment of some members including himself

Senator Shehu Sani in an interview on Wednesday, July 18, said he and some other members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have been maltreated by the party and they are in talks with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Sani said contrary to reports, he is yet to dump the APC but he might soon do that. He accused his party of injustice and marginalisation, Vanguard reports.

The senator, who spoke in Abuja, said: “I have not yet opted out of the APC but I can confirm we are talking with the PDP and we are talking with the APC and what is pushing us out of the APC is inherent injustice, marginalization and inequity that have visited us.

“We have been treated badly by the party in the last three years but we are appreciating that we have a chairman, in the person of Comrade Adams Oshiomhole."

He added that the decision to leave or stay in APC will be made known to the public in a few days. He said: “We are also exploring options of getting out of the party, but who remains in the party, the discussion is still on.

“Our decisions will be in a matter of weeks and not in a matter of months where we are going to review whether we will remain in the party or we will go to cross the Red Sea out of Egypt to the promised land.”

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that the Senate president, Bukola Saraki on Tuesday, July 17, said he will reveal to Nigerians when he is ready to dump the All Progressives Congress (APC).

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Saraki said this at Ilorin International airport, in Kwara state.

Asked by journalists what he will do over the pressure by some of his followers to lead them out of the APC, Saraki declined to comment and asked newsmen not to ‘worry’ or ‘push’ him over the matter.
