JUST IN: Fire outbreak alarm raised in Victoria Island area of Lagos

A fire outbreak has been reported around Feyide House, which is situated around Idowu Taylor street in Victoria Island area of Lagos state.

A Twitter user identified as Ayokunle with the Twitter handle @ayokvnle, raised the alarm on his page on Wednesday, July 18.

He tweeted: "There's a fire right now around Feyide House/UBA/TOTAL area in Idowu Taylor Str, Victoria Island. @Gidi_Traffic"

Legit.ng has, however, not been able to confirm the veracity of the fire alarm raised by Ayokunle as of press time.

Recall that there had been various fire incidents reported in recent times in which lives and property were lost.

A raging inferno on the night of Thursday, February 1, razed over 600 shops at the old market in Bida, headquarters of Bida local government area of Niger state.

The fire, which started at about 8.30pm, was said to have destroyed goods and other property in the old market.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that in the early hours of Friday, March 23, fire gutted a section of Binukonu Ultra Modern Market, Ojota in Lagos, destroying goods and property worth millions of naira.

It was reported that this was the third fire incident at the the market in three years. Previous incidents occurred in 2015 and November 2017.

Also reported by Legit.ng was the tanker explosion that occurred on Otedola Link Bridge, near the old toll gate, Alausa, Lagos.

No fewer than nine persons were burnt beyond recognition with 54 vehicles torched in the explosion.
