- The Reds are close to completing Alisson Becker's deal
- They are said to have agreed to pay a sum of €75 million for the Brazil international who recently returned from a disappointing World Cup outing with his country
- He joined his current club from Inter Milan for less than €10 million and will leave for a mega fee
Premier League giants Liverpool are said to have agreed to sign Brazil goalkeeper Alisson Becker from Roma in a fee around €75 million (£66.8m).
The deal will see the 25-year-old become the most expensive goalkeeper in the world as the Reds are desperately in need a new number one.
Loris Karius made two costly mistakes that made his side lose last term's Champions League title to Real Madrid in Kiev three months back.
Meanwhile, Jurgen Klopp's initial €70 million bid for the Brazilian earlier this week was rejected the offer by Roma chiefs.
However, agreeing a deal for the goalkeeper, Liverpool are already making arrangements for the 25-year-old’s medical.
According to the BBC, both clubs met earlier on Wednesday to determine how the fee would be paid - a meeting that settled the future of the shotstopper.
Fellow Premier League side Chelsea were also interested in signing the Brazilian but will not make a move for him unless Thibaut Courtois leaves this summer.
The news outlet also reported that Alisson had a meeting with Jürgen Klopp on Tuesday and he is already keen to join the Champions League finalists.
Once he completes his move to the club, he will replace Loris Karius as Liverpool's No 1, in a bid to reduce the high level of mistakes during matches.
25-year-old Alisson joined Roma from Inter Milan in 2016 for a fee of €7.5 million, but has grown to become the team's main stay after spending his first season as Wojciech Szczesny’s back-up.

The Brazil international was superb in goal for his Serie A club helping them to reach the semifinal of last term's Champions League but lost by a slim margin to Liverpool.
He will become Liverpool’s fourth summer signing after the arrivals of Naby Keïta from RB Leipzig (£52.8m), Fabinho from Monaco (£40m) and Xherdan Shaqiri from Stoke City (£13.5m).
The fee for Allison would be a record for a goalkeeper, eclipsing the €53m paid by Juventus for Gianluigi Buffon in 2001 and the €40m it cost Manchester City to buy Ederson from Benfica last summer.
