2019: We are going to shock those who think that we are nobody - R-APC

- R-APC has accused APC of winning Ekiti election by buying electorates votes

- The new faction vowed to shock APC in the 2019 general election

- It also accused APC leaders of hypocrisy

The Reformed All Progressives Congress (R-APC) on Tuesday, July 17, accused the ruling party, APC, of moving taxpayers’ money to Ekiti state in the just concluded governorship election there to buy votes from electorates.

In an interview with Daily Independent, Prince Kassim Afegbua, the publicity secretary of R-APC, said the APC will be defeated in the 2019 elections.

He said: “Politics is not about noisemaking. We are strategising and, also, don’t forget that we have gone to court and we are still holding our meetings, and we are trying to see how best to approach our objectives.

“But anyone should not think that we are going to be dancing on the streets because we want people to hear or see us. We have gone beyond that.

“We are going to strategically shock those who think that we are nobody and that is just the beginning of the defeat of President Muhammadu Buhari in 2019.

“During the day, they will call us names but at night, they will be hopping from door to door, pleading with our members not to leave.

“They know they have serious issues, they know they are messing up big time. They also know that the acceptance ratio of the president and APC has dropped, and that was why they deployed so much resources in the Ekiti election to make a statement.

“But it is so glaring to everybody, both local and international observers, that it was cash for vote."

According to him, a party that prides itself as a fighter against corruption, preaches anti-corruption and transparency in government ended up ridiculing their own credentials at Ekiti election.

“So much desperation, so much usage of the resources of the people, tax payers’ money, just to make a statement that they are still in contention.

“But in 2019, they will be shocked when Nigerians will reject them. That time, they won’t have 30,000 police to give to every state.

“They won’t have 1,000 soldiers to distribute to each state. Nigerians will be left with their consciences to vote out this incompetent government that has compounded our problems, divided us more than ever before," he added.
