How many finals have Real Madrid and Barcelona met

The biggest rivalry in world football is the El Clasico where two of the most successful clubs in Europe do battle.

Real Madrid and Barcelona rivalry dates back to the last century and up until this day it is regarded as fans favourite.

And football is played at the highest quality and it is packed with the best players in the world when these two ancient cities come face to face in any tournament.

Both clubs have won a remarkable 183 trophies between them with La Blaugrana winning 94 titles while Los Blancos have 87.

As much as these two sides have met in history, they have only met in a few title deciding matches which is the Copa del Rey (FA Cup) and the Supercopa de Espana also known as the Spanish Super Cup.

In the Spanish FA Cup, Barcelona and Real Madrid have decided the winners on six occasions winning three apiece respectively.

Barca defeated Real in the 1967/68, 1982/83, and 1988/90 seasons while the bitter rivals were champions in the 1973/1974, 2010/2011 and 2013/14 campaigns.

Another competition that has brought these big club together in the final is the Spanish Super Cup, which is usually played before the start of the season in a two legged match.

Madrid have the upper hand, boasting of six wins out of seven encounters with Barca's only win occurring in the start of the 2012 term.

The Galaticos won in 1988, 1990 1993, 1997, 2011 and most recently in 2017 where Zinedine Zidane's side won both legs of the El Clasico.

Meanwhile, had earlier reported that Real Madrid and Barcelona played a 2-2 draw in a La Liga match played at Nou Camp last season.

Luis Suarez opened the scoring in the first half as Cristiano Ronaldo responded with a fine build up, making the scores 1-1 at half time.

Lionel Messi scored Barca's second despite being reduced 10 men following Sergi Roberto's red card.

Gareth Bale brought Real back into the match for the second time as he unleashed a cracker into the right-hand corner of Andre Marc Ter Stegen. It ended 2-2.
