Premier League side Chelsea have placed a £200 million world record price tag on Eden Hazard as they prepare for a possible switch to La Liga side Real Madrid this summer.
According to the UK Sun report, citing sources at the Times, the Chelsea playmaker made it clear he will join the Galaticos after Belgium’s World Cup exit at the hands France’s Les Bleus.
The Los Blancos want to sign a new Galactico after allowing Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo leave for Serie A side Juventus in a £99m deal.
The 27-year-old Hazard is seen as an ideal replacement and Chelsea are open to allow the playmaker follow his dream, but any potential suitor must cough out the world record fee.
Chelsea eggheads are convinced that the Belgian is worth more than the £198m Paris Saint-Germain paid Barcelona for Neymar 12 months ago.
Currently, the Belgian still has 24 months to go on his contract and the Blues have offered him £300-000-a-week to extend his deal at Stamford Bridge.
But Hazard is not prepared to sign the extension after knowing that the Los Blancos want to bring him to the Bernabeu, which suggests Chelsea must sell this summer or face the prospect of losing him for a lower fee in the future.
"After six wonderful years at Chelsea it might be time to discover something different.
“Certainly after this World Cup. I can decide if I want to stay or go, but Chelsea will make the final decision - if they want to let me go. You know my preferred destination,” Hazard disclosed after captaining Belgium’s Red Devils to a third place finish at the just-concluded FIFA World Cup in Russia.
However, Chelsea’s failure to secure a UEFA Champions League action looks likely to play a big role in Hazard's decision to dump the Stamford Bridge side for the Galaticos.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously had reported that Real Madrid are reportedly preparing a £150m bid to sign Belgium forward Eden Hazard from Chelsea this summer as a replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo BBC reports.
The Portugal international has agreed to join Juventus, after the Bernabeu outfit confirmed Ronaldo will leave Madrid this summer. Hazard on the other hand, has been on the radar of Los Blancos and the Spanish club are now set to cash in on the high flying Belgian star.
