Football fans react as France beat Croatia to win Russia 2018 World Cup in style

- The Blues are the new world champions following their 4-2 win over Croatia at the just concluded World Cup

- Kylian Mbappe made history as the second teenager to score in the FIFA World Cup final after Brazil legend pele

- Didier Deschamps also joined the legend that have won the title as a player and then as a coach

France defeated Croatia 4-2 in a classical World Cup final encounter at the Luzhniki Stadium on Sunday, July 15.

Les Blues benefited from a Mario Mandzukic own goal to take the lead in 18th minute of the game.

But an Ivan Perisic superb equaliser ensured the Croats got back into the game in the 28th minute having carefully and tactically plotted the set piece that gifted them the equaliser.

However, Antoinne Griezmann's spot kick in the 38th minute put Didier Deschamps back in the lead as they won the first half of the game.

On return to the pitch for the second half, Paul Pogba's 59th minute bebound compounded Croatia's woes as the French team went up by 3-1.

And six minutes later, Kylian Mbappe made history as the second teenager to have scored in the World Cup final after Pele.

Meanwhile, a mistake from Hugo Lloris gave Mario Mandzukic a chance to register his name on the scores sheet as they reduced the deficit to two goals.

At the end, the French team claimed their second World Cup title in history 20 years after winning their first ever title on home soil in 1998.

While Deschamps joined the league of legends who have won the title as a player and coach.
