France have emerged champions of world again as they recorded a 4-2 victory over Croatia in the Russia 2018 World Cup final.
It was an entertaining fixture played at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow in front of the 50,000 capacity.
Mario Mandzukic scored an own goal to put France ahead in the match but Ivan Perisic leveled matters a few minutes later with a bullet of a shot.
Then, Antoine Griezmann converted from the penalty spot to give France the lead after the VAR had adjudged Perisic to have handled the ball in the box.
France went into half time with a 2-1 lead as they had the advantage going into the second 45 minutes.
The second half was also a feast of goals for both sides as Paul Pogba made it 3-1 to France after his first shot was blocked but wasted not time to convert on the second attempt.
France were not done as their 19-year-old striker Kylian Mbappe shot from outside the 18-yard box which beat Subasic in goal which put the match at 4-1.
Hugo Lloris committed a hauler in the 69th minute as he gifted the ball to Mandzukic who tapped into an empty net to make the score 4-2.
Both sides could no longer find the back of the net as the Argentine referee ended the match and France became champions for the second time in their history.
Belgium on the other hand, wrapped up their 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia with a 2-0 win over England, to claim bronze medal in the championship.
Didier Deschamps became the third coach to win the World Cup both as a player and as a coach after Brazil's Mario Zagallo and Franz Beckenbauer of Germany.
Mbappe also became the second teenager to score in a World Cup final after Pele as the Paris Saint-Germain striker finished the tournament with four goals.
Modric was handed the Golden Ball which represents the best player of the tournament while the Silver Ball went to MBappe who emerged the young player of the competition.
England's Harry Kane went home with the Golden Boot after scoring six goal, more than any other player in the competition.
