Legit.ng gathered that the resolution also noted that “the real herdsmen do not carry AK 47, do not raze a whole settlement but desires peace to harness his pastoral activities.”

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had previously reported that six herdsmen and over 150 cows at Akpanagya, in the Keana local government area of Nasarawa state, were allegedly being killed by soldiers deployed to Benue and Nasarawa states border.

It was reported that the acting police public relations officer of the state command, ASP Usman Samaila, confirmed this in a telephone interview in Lafia.

Samaila was said to have been quoted that the command received information that the military personnel came from Benue and carried out the operation that led to the killing of six people suspected to be herdsmen in the state.

Samaila said that the command did not know what really happened between the herdsmen and the soldiers.

He said: “The command is aware of the incident that took place in the Keana local government area of the state.
