Borussia Dortmund confirm 2-year loan move for Real Madrid’s Achraf Hakimi

Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund have sealed a two-year loan contract for Real Madrid defender Achraf Hakimi.

According to Real Madrid official Twitter handle, the Morocco full-back will be joining the Bundesliga side on a two-year deal.

“Real Madrid C. F. and Borussia Dortmund have agreed on the loan of Achraf for the next two seasons,” a statement on the Los Blancos site read in part.

The Moroccan made made nine LaLiga appearances for the Los Blancos last season and also featured twice in the Champions League.

The 19-year-old is expected to battle Lukasz Piszczek for the right-back spot at Dortmund.

“Hakimi is a young, dynamic full-back who has already played at the highest level with Real Madrid and the Moroccan national team,” the club’s sporting director Michael Zorc was quoted as saying.

Interestingly, the Bundesliga side now added six players this summer transfer as they look ahesad to the new campaign with the arrival of Lucien Favre as new manager.

On the other hand, Ukrainian international Andriy Yarmolenko left the Bundesliga side to join West Ham in the English topflight.
