Liverpool are confident of completing a £12m deal for Xherdan Shaqiri before leaving for their US Tour.
Jurgen Klopp is eager to bolster his squad and give it some quality depth and utilize the opportunity to sign the Stoke City attacker who has an attractive release clause in his contract.
Shaqiri joined Stoke from Bayern Munich in 2015 and has two years remaining on his deal but the Championship side are resigned to him moving this summer and they want the business wrapped up quickly.
The Switzerland international is currently on holiday, having helped his country reach the last 16 of the World Cup.
Liverpool, who defeated local rivals Tranmere 3-2 on Tuesday night, head to the United States on July 21 for a week-long tour that will see them play games against Dortmund, Manchester City and Manchester United.
The Reds have been active in the transfer market already as they have acquired Fabinho from Monaco for £43.7m.
