The 59-year-old was said to have tried to sign Golovin while managing Napoli, and he has made him one of his major targets at the Bridge.

Meanwhile, CSKA Moskva are ready to allow their player leave but will not listen to offers below £22 million.

Sarri is confident he will be unveiled as Antonio Conte's replacement within days even though they have yet to agree a pay-off with Antonio Conte who has one year left on his £9m-a-year contract.
