The 59-year-old was said to have tried to sign Golovin while managing Napoli, and he has made him one of his major targets at the Bridge.
Meanwhile, CSKA Moskva are ready to allow their player leave but will not listen to offers below £22 million.
Sarri is confident he will be unveiled as Antonio Conte's replacement within days even though they have yet to agree a pay-off with Antonio Conte who has one year left on his £9m-a-year contract.
Conte wants to see out his contract at the club despite the fallen out he had with his employers last term.
His contract expires in the summer of 2019 having refused to terminate his contract with the club.
Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich will clearly like to see Golovin succeed and the midfielder has earned rave reviews as Russia reached the last 16.
