APC convention: Kwankwaso’s boycott signals end to political career - Garba

For boycotting the just concluded APC national convention held at the weekend in Abuja on Saturday, June 23 and 24, the Kano state commissioner for information, Comrade Mohammed Garba, lambasted the state’s former governor, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.

He described the reasons Kwankwaso gave for not being at the convention as false.

Punch reports that in a statement personally signed by Comrade Garba, he said the Kano Congresses were adjudged the best recently conducted in the country as there was no case of parallel congress in the state.

He argued that Kwankwaso could have used the occasion to reconcile his dispute with Governor Ganduje. As a result of this, he said Kwankwaso has nailed his political career.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that Nigeria's main opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has condemned the violence that occurred among delegates at the ongoing national convention of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The PDP said in a statement signed by its spokesperson Kola Ologbodiyan that the exchange of blows among delegates was unfortunate.

It also claimed that the voting processes were manipulated and delegates were forced to vote as certain powerful individuals wanted. It described the entire process as an insult to democracy.
