Incoming Chelsea manager Sarri wants Gonzalo Higuain as his first signing

- Former Napoli manager Maurizio Sarri has told Chelsea to sign Argentine star Gonzalo Higuain this summer

- The Italian born tactician is expected to take over as the Blues boss once Conte's contract is terminated

Incoming Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has reportedly informed the Blues chiefs to make Argentina international Gonzalo Higuain their first signing.

The 59-year-old Italian has been touted to take over from Antonio Conte at the Stamford Bridge this summer.

With the likes of Eden Hazard and Alvaro Morata set to quit the west London club, the former Napoli boss has made the Argentine star the first player he will sign.

Sarri's appointment will be confirmed once Conte and the Blues agree a mutual agreement to terminate his existing contract.

According to Tribal Football citing Tuttosport, Sarri wants Higuain to be his first summer signing this summer.

They both worked together at Napoli and Sarri knows Higuain is open to a move to London.

A swap has been mooted involving the former Juve striker moving in the opposite direction. Morata is keen on a return to Serie A.

And it's suggested the deal could be a straight swap, with both players rated in the €60 million range.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has agreed deal with Italian professional football coach Maurizio Sarri for him to replace embattled gaffer Antonio Conte.

After spending three years at Italian club Napoli, the 59-year-old is currently a free agent and he is said to have had seven hours meeting with Blues' owner on Thursday, May 24.

According to Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla, the Chelsea owner will meet with Conte on Friday, May 25 to end his time at Stamford Bridge.
