Watford star Nordin Amrabat has accused American referee Mark Geiger of asking for Cristiano Ronaldo's jersey during Morocco's slim defeat to Portugal on Wednesday, June 20.
The Real Madrid superstar scored the only goal that separated the two sides in their second group game in the fourth minute of the encounter to rank second with 4 points on Group B table.
Amrabat according to Daily Mail was said to have suffered concussion in his side 1-0 defeat to Iran in the opening game last weekend.
And the 31-year-old said he overheard Besiktas defender Pepe saying during the first half of the game.
"I do not know what he is used to, but he was very impressed by Cristiano Ronaldo, and I hear from Pepe that he asked in the first half if he should have his shirt.
"What are we talking about? At the World Cup? It’s not a circus here."
However, Portuguese media officials have refused to comment on the claims as there is no evidence to back up the allegation.
Amrabat, who spent the 2017-18 season on a season long loan deal at Spanish League side Leganes still has a contract with Premier League side Watford.
He was not expected to play yesterday but appeared wearing a scrum cap which he removed half an hour in to the game.
