- Salah missed his side's first game at the World Cup in which they lost 1-0 against Uruguay

Liverpool striker Mohamed Salah has declared himself fit for Egypt's next game against Russia at the 2018 FIFA World Cup championship.

Mohamed Salah was on the bench for Egypt’s opening game against Uruguay and the Pharaohs were beaten after conceding a goal at the death.

Many football fans believed Mohamed Salah would have helped Egypt in their first game, but coach Hector Cuper did not want to take a risk as he just recuperated from shoulder injury.

Salah himself has now taken to social media that he is ready to face Russia in their second game at the World Cup.

Meanwhile, Russia were superb in their first game against Saudi Arabia winning 5-0 and a defeat for Egypt in this tie will decimate their chance of reaching the round of 16 at the World Cup.

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Uruguay left it late to secure a vital 1-0 victory against Egypt as day two of the World Cup got underway at the Ekaterinburg Arena on Friday, June 15.

Atletico Madrid star José Giménez was the hero as his 90th minute header from a set-piece gave the South Americans all three points.

Uruguay, semifinalist at the 2010 World Cup, seemed to be having a frustrating afternoon due to series of outstanding saves from Egypt goalkeeper Elshenawy.
