Ex-president Jonathan praises Nigerian men on Fathers' Day

- Jonathan says Nigerian fathers have a legacy that he is proud of and wishes them happy celebrations

- The former president says Nigerian fathers raised children that are probably the most successful in diaspora

- He says the fathers also raised children that populated Nigeria's Armed Forces which maintains peace worldwide and at home

Ex-president Goodluck Jonathan has sent a powerful message to Nigerian men as the world celebrates Fathers' Day.

In a message posted to his Facebook page on Sunday, June 17, Jonathan praised Nigerian fathers for raising great children that built Africa's largest economy and gave the world 'gifts like Nollywood'.

He also saluted the Nigerian fathers for their contributions to making citizens in diaspora the most successful and making Nigerian soldiers one of the best at keeping the peace around the world.

The message read: "Nigeria is blessed to have fathers who have sired children and raised them up to build this great nation to the extent that it has become Africa’s largest economy which has also given the world great gifts like Nollywood, perhaps the most successful diaspora population in the world and an armed forces that have helped keep the peace in Nigeria and many nations around the world.

"With such a legacy, I am proud of Nigeria’s fathers and wish every father this nation is blessed to have a happy Father’s Day. May God bless you and may He bless Nigeria. GEJ."

Legit.ng reported just recently that the ex-president had messages for Nigerians as they celebrated Democracy Day on May 29.

In his message, the former president urged the people to understand and accept that nobody’s political, economic, religious or social ambition is worth the blood of any Nigerian.

He further went on to extend Ramadan greetings to the Muslim Ummah who were in fasting at the time.
