Nigeria tipped as the 19th best team to win this year's FIFA World Cup

- The Super Eagles are the least rated in their group, which consists of Argentina, Croatia and Iceland

- They have already won the best jersey and the best travel attire even before the start of the tournament

- However, they have a 1.5% chance of lifting this year's edition of the global football showpiece in Russia

Nigeria has a chance of winning this year’s FIFA World Cup championship staging in Russia according to a football stats website.

The Super Eagles kickoff their Group D opening campaign against top European side Croatia at the Kaliningrad Stadium at 8pm.

However, the three-time African champions have been placed in joint-19th position with a 1.5 per cent chance of winning this year’s edition of the competition.

This is according to football facts and stats website Optajoe on their World Cup predictor done for all 32 participating teams this summer and was published on their verified Twitter handle.

The website rates Nigeria’s Group D foe, Argentina as one of the favourites to land the title for the third time in their history with a 10.1 per cent chance.

While Croatia and debutant Iceland, who are also in Group D are 12th with 1.9 per cent and joint-26th on 1.3 per cent chances respectively.

Brazil have the highest chance of winning the title as they are placed above every other teams with 13.2 per cent to claim their sixth title while the defending champions Germany are second on 10.7 per cent.

Africa’s other representatives Senegal and Egypt are in joint-19th on 1.5 per cent chance with Nigeria, Tunisia take the 30th position on 0.9 per cent and Morocco are 32nd (bottom) with 0.6 per cent.

The World Cup kicks off on Thursday June 14 with host country Russia taking on Saudi Arabia.

The three-time African champions were recently ranked 19th most expensive squad going to the tournament which kicks off on Thursday, June 14.

While their jersey ranked the best strip in all the jerseys that will be represented at this summer’s edition of the competition.
