- Lauretta Onochie has attacked the Nigerian Senate over what she described as an attempt to frustrate President Buhari
- Onochie said most of the senators trying to frustrate President Buhari were insignificant until they started associating with the president
President Muhammadu Buhari's special assistant on social media, Lauretta Onochie, on Tuesday, June 5, accused members of the Nigerian Senate of having a self-centered cabal bent on frustrating the president.
Onochie made her comment after Senator Shehu Sani, representing Kaduna central, tweeted that some people are supporting the executive to persecute the parliamentary.
Sani said: "Supporting the executive to persecute the Parliamentarians is setting a dangerous precedent for democracy and nurturing the seed of absolute totalitarianism."
Responding to Sani's tweet, Onochie said most of the senators 'frustrating' the president now were insignificant until they started associating with him (President Buhari).
She tweeted: "Turning the Nigerian Senate into a PLC that serves only the Senate cabal, is a gross betrayal of the people of Nigeria who voted you to represent them. Some of you were rejects until you rode on the back of the leader of the executive, Buhari, who you now seek to frustrate."
