- France international Paul Pogba list the midfielders that are better than him
- The 25-year-old re-joined Manchester United in the summer of 2016 in the club's world record fee
- However, no Red Devils player made the shortlist of the players that play better in the midfield position
Manchester United superstar Paul Pogba has named Barcelona legend Andres Iniesta and six other midfielders who are better than him.
The France international rejoined the Red Devils from Juventus in the summer of 2016 and he remains the club’s most expensive player having being signed in a five year deal worth £89 million.
However, his return to Old Trafford hasn’t really paid off as the 25-year-old has struggled in the last two seasons at the club.
He has been impressive for United in a couple of games but he has failed to be consistent in his performances for the team.
While speaking to Canal TV as they continue to prepare for this year’s World Cup, the 25-year-old was asked to list a handful of midfielders who he believes are better than himself, with a bizarre inclusion on his list.
Topping the list of influential midfielders listed by Pogba is Abou Diaby, who was once an Arsenal player but has suffered from different injuries his entire career.
He was one of the favourites at the Emirates Stadium during his time at the club, however, he has spent almost 10 years in club football but has only managed 139 senior appearances throughout his entire 14-year professional career.
Also on his list of midfielders better than him is Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne, who was instrumental to his side winning the league and setting a new Premier League record of 100 points in a season.
Real Madrid superstar Luka Modric is another player Pogba regards as more influential than him in the same position.
Other players listed by Paul Pogba in the same list are Man City’s David Silva and Yaya Toure while Toni Kroos completes the lift of players according to the Frenchman.
Legit.ng previously reported that Paul Pogba was crowned the best player in April following an impressive performance for Manchester United under the month in review.
The France international beat Ander Herrera and Alexis Sanchez to scoop the prize for the second time this season, having won it back in August.
The 25-year-old has endured a critical few months at the start of the year after being axed from United's side following the row with Mourinho.
The Frenchman managed to change his fortunes around at Old Trafford recently scoring three times and providing two assists in the process.
