Real Madrid have proven to be the best club side in European football following their 3-1 victory over Premier League side Liverpool on Saturday, May 26.
A brace from Gareth Bale and one from Karim Benzema ensured the Galacticos win their career 13th Champions League title.
Having endured a goalless first half, Benzema opened scoring for Los Blancos in the 51st minute after benefiting Loris Karius' mistake.
The Reds keeper tried to serve the ball to his player but the France international blocked the ball and immediately went into the net.
Meanwhile, Bale came in the 61st minute and barely three minutes after, he doubled his side's lead with a superb overhead kick.
He completed his brace in the game with a thunderous shot from long range to ensure Madrid finished 3-1 at the end of the match.
Though, Senegal international Sadio Mane got a goal but it ended up becoming a mere consolation as it couldn’t help his side avoid defeat in the match.
The Reds also lost their star man Mohamed Salah to injury in the first half, but despite his absence, the Anfield side gave a fight but their efforts weren’t just enough.
This also means that they have won the trophy three consecutive times – having emerge victorious in the last two editions.
