New Arsenal manager Unai Emery has reportedly concluded plans to offer a bid for Barcelona forward Ousmane Dembele this summer.

The Spaniard was unveiled as the Gunners manager on Wednesday, May 23, as Arsene Wenger’s successor at the Emirates Stadium.

He led the French League giants to a treble in the 2017-18 season but was unable to lead them beyond the second round of the Champions League – as his side lost 5-2 on aggregate to Real Madrid in the second round.

However, the former Sevilla manager wants to take advantage of Dembele’s unsettled situation at the Camp Nou.

The 21-year-old is also said to be wanted by Liverpool with the Reds manager already believed to have expressed an interest in signing the player.

Having lost his side’s Premier League clash to Chelsea towards the end of the recently concluded season, Jurgen Klopp said: “Is he on the market? Then I’m interested.”

Meanwhile, Don Balon reports that Liverpool, like Arsenal, have gone cold, while Barcelona boss Ernesto Valverde tipped Dembele to overcome his tough start to Nou Camp life.

"We think he can help us,” he said. “He's very young and he has a lot of time ahead of him still.

“All players need time to adapt; when you're young there are things you need to learn.

Emery signed a two year deal with Arsenal as he takes over from outgone manager Arsene Wenger at the Emirates Stadium.

He spent two seasons at the Parc Des Princes and won seven domestic titles at the club.

While at Sevilla, he won three straight Europa League title with a Copa Del Rey title in his three year reign at the club.

Meanwhile, earlier reported that next season's Europa League campaigners Arsenal have confirmed the appointment of former PSG coach Unai Emery as their new manager.
