Super Eagles defender William Troost-Ekong has hailed Leon Balogun after signing a two-year deal with Premier League outfit Brighton & Hove Albion this summer.

The 29-year-old ran out of contract with his former German Bundesliga side, Mainz 05 at the end of last season and joined the EPL side as a free agent.

Balogun, who is a key member of the Nigeria squad to the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, spent three seasons at his former club – scoring one goal in 42 appearances during the three season reign at the club.READ ALSO: Mohamed Salah's presence has increased attendance at Liverpool mosque

However, his partner in the national team, Troost-Ekong is proud of the new deal, adding that they perform well together when they kick off their campaign at the global showpiece.

Balogun broke into the Nigeria team in 2018 and he has already established himself as a key member of the team.

He partnered the Bursaspor defender in the heart of Nigerian defence in the process of qualifying for this year World Cup, and many have already regarded their partnership as the one of the best.

Meanwhile, Troost-Ekong recently joined Turkish side, Bursaspor after spending two years at Belgium outfit, Gent.

Brighton finished 15th on the Premier League table in the 2017-18 season, and they will be hoping do better in the coming season.
