Igwe 2pac reveals inspiration for accolades video

- Nollywood actor and comedian, Charles Okocha has finally spoken on the origin of accolades video

- According to him, the video was to appreciate his mother for all she went through in order to train him

- He also spoke about the gun attack he survived and his music career

The use of the word accolades has gradually become a common trend in Nigeria. Almost every video has that one person talking about 'paying dues' and 'deserving accolades' in a rather comic way.

Well, the originator of this trend, Nollywood actor and comedian, Charles Okocha, has finally spoken on the reason for starting the trend. In an interview with Punch, he stated that in the video which shows him spraying money on his mother, he was just appreciating her because she did her best for him.

In his words, "She has paid her dues and there is no accolade that will be enough for her. I was also trying to make other people appreciate their mothers because there are people who will give anything for their mothers to be alive. If your mother is still alive, always appreciate her and make her happy. My mum trained me and stood by me to this point.

Whatever I do is to make her happy and put a smile on her face. My mother is my priority before any woman comes in and I will keep making her proud. I don’t joke with her."

The actor popular known as Igwe 2pac; a movie character he played in a Nollywood film, also spoke about the gun attack he survived. According to him, it was a case of accidental discharge and not planned as most people thought.

He said, "It was a case of accidental discharge. A mobile policeman saw me and was very excited; so, he shot into the air as a form of salute to appreciate my work. However, the gun fell off his hands; so, I sustained multiple gunshot wounds at close range. But it was not intentional."

Talking about his music career, Igwe 2pac who has released four singles, including Shove it up your a*s, Nunu, Amoshine and Mr Accolade, revealed that he is still recording more singles and by November or December, his album will be out.
