As 2019 general elections draw nearer, and in bid to renegotiate their position in the ruling party, members of the New Peoples Democratic Party (nPDP) in the All Progressives Congress (APC) are currently at the national headquarters of APC to meet with the national leadership of the party.
Members of the nPDP in the meeting are led by Alhaji Abubakar Kawu Baraje, former acting national chairman of PDP.
They are being met by Senator Lawal Shiuabu, APC deputy national chairman (North), New Telegraph reports.
The news outlet reported further that other members of the APC national working committee in the meeting are: national secretary, Alhaji Mai Mala Buni, national organizing secretary, Senator Osita Izunaso, national youth leader, Hon. Ibrahim Jalo Dasuki and national Treasurer, Alhaji Mohammed Bala Gwagwarawa.
Recall that it was reported sometime last week that the nPDP visited the party secretariat and demanded a meeting with the leadership of the party and the presidency within 7 days.
“Given the constraining factor of available time and in the interest of our great party, it is strongly advised that the said urgent meeting be held not later than 7 days from the date of the receipt of this letter, ” the nPDP has said in their petition titled: Request for redressing of grievances of the former new Peoples Democratic Party bloc within the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that the members of a faction of the All Progressives Congress (APC) called the new Peoples Democratic Party (nPDP) are set to withdraw from the ruling party after the expiration of their recent ultimatum to the leadership of the party.
